Andrea Pirani joins Ielasi Tuned

Ielasi Tuned have announced the signing of Italian front runner, Andrea Pirani. Andrea will start using his new power plants at this week’s EFRA 1/8th Euros in Cassino, Italy with his weapon of choice being the newly introduced Raptor.21 engine.

Ielasi Tuned Raptor.21 3.5cc nitro on-road engine

Ielasi Tuned have announced the release of their latest 3.5cc nitro on-road engine, the Raptor.21. The power plant is of an extra long stroke design and it utilises a 9-port sleeve, DLC-treated crankshaft and the R4/18 conrod, combining high performance with significantly improved reliability. The engine will become available in two variants, as standard bearing Raptor.21ON and also as Raptor.21ON/C, equipped with a Swiss-made ceramic rear bearing.

Daniele Ielasi swaps asphalt for dirt

In a statement on social media, Italy’s Daniele Ielasi has announced his, possibly temporary, turning away from competition nitro on-road racing. The former IFMAR World and Italian National Champion will concentrate on 1/8th Nitro and Electric Buggy racing in 2018, campaigning HB Racing’s B817 and E817 kits. Daniele points out that professional 1/8th on-road racing is taking too much of his time, feeling that race preparation counts more than racing itself, something he hopes will be different in off-road racing. About his move Daniele had the following to say:

• That’s right. From this year, after 30 exact years of track racing between categories 1/8 on and 1/10 on, it’s time to add a new challenge to my modeling career, off road! I have to admit it was a very difficult decision, but, as often happens in life you come to a point that you must have the strength to make certain decisions that are important to your future, and even if sometimes they may seem too hasty and little sense.
• That’s right. From this year, after 30 exact years of track racing between categories 1/8 on and 1/10 on, it’s time to add a new challenge to my modeling career, off road! I have to admit it was a very difficult decision, but, as often happens in life you come to a point that you must have the strength to make certain decisions that are important to your future, and even if sometimes they may seem too hasty and little sense.
• But they’re the right thing to do. Today “unfortunately” Category 1/8 runway has arrived at a very high level, where preparation in general counts more than anything, and I personally compared to the past, when I was a pilot at 100 %, I don’t have any more Time (for my work choices) that I can dedicate to the category I love and have always loved more than any other. I would like to point out, though, that it’s not a real good-bye to the track category, I’m going to turn around again, but this year will only be for private testing. So after all this, that’s why the decision to deal with this new challenge, a whole new world that still fascinates me very much and gives me new stimuli, especially because of the difficulty that this category entails for a pilot from the category category. That said, I want to thank my new and old sponsors so much:

Der 1Bawue Cup 2017 beim MCC Nufringen ist zu Ende. Leider musste das Rennen Sonntag abgesagt werden wegen schwerem Regen. Sven hatte leider etwas Pech in der Quali und wurde so leider unverdient nur 3. Die Performance des Ielasi Motors kombiniert mit dem Energy Fuel waren vielversprechend für den Sonntag.

The second Round of Italian championship in the Ongaroring was finish very very good!

Saturday started very well with a very aggressive package and amazing car...but I had not super good qualifying because the track is difficult and I did a lot of mistakes.... after the qualifying I finished eighth.

Sunday in the semifinal we worked so good and also if I did a few mistakes I caught the main final with a third position.
In the final I started with the number six and after the first lap I caught the third position and I was third until the first pitstop....in that time I had an accident on the pit lane, and I finished fourth.
After that I drove very aggressive and that cost me lot of mistakes...and I finished 6th.

I'm very happy and proud...thank you so much Alessandro Marcantoni and Daniele Ielasi....I had a huge package!!

Wallace Motorsports -  Ielasi Tuned team driver Tommy DeSantis takes 4th place at the fort Myers Forgass race

Well another weekend of racing is under my belt and for my third weekend back I have no complaints finally getting he car and engine package close to where it needs to be I was able to turn some pretty fast laps and it was good enough for a 4th place a main position, all of this wouldn't be possible without the help from my sponsors Wallace Motorsports, Wrc, Hot Race Tires, and Ialasi tuned novarossi, thank you guys for allowing me to represent such fine products. Alessandro has to say:
It was amazing weekend at the first round of Italian championship in the track "Gli archi"!!

The race start very well with a 7th position after the qualifying and I started with a number 4 into the semifinal and I finished in 3rd position.

In the final I started with the number 6 but before the start we had a problem and had to start from the pit-lane....my package worked very well and I drove good with a nothing mistake!!

I'm happy and proud!!

Ielasi & Mazzeo win at EFRA GP Series opener

Daniele Ielasi took the win at the first round of the EFRA GP Series in what was a surprising twist of events, the former 1/10 200mm World Champion producing an excellent performance and his package proving to be tough and consistent in a final that saw a lot of drama. The main kicked off with Simon Kurzbuch starting well from pole and never letting anyone come near to his lead, and despite a charging Balestri trying hard to keep his Infinity in contact with the Shepherd, the Swiss managed to open a gap. Behind them it would be Collari, Picco and Ielasi swapping positions with the latter settling into 3rd, Picco 4th and Collari dropped down to 8th with a broken glow plug. Right after the 25 minutes mark Balestri would crash his Infinity into the barriers entering the straight, the heavy contact leaving the Italian with a broken rear left wishbone and promoting the fighting duo of Ielasi and Picco into podium positions, with Vrijelink now 4th.
Kurzbuch, now with less pressure, kept on dancing through the curbs for 15 more minutes, the strategy and the solidity of his team paying off as usual, until the 40th minute where a cold shower was around the corner for the Swiss that was forced into the pits, losing five laps as the 1st gear pinion came undone on his Novarossi. With Simon in the pits, it was Daniele Ielasi to take advantage of the stop and to inherit the lead, that he managed to keep until the chequered flag was waved above his WRC despite Picco trying his best in the stirred up duel, with Vrieljinck closing 3rd just ahead of the up and coming Italian talent Massari.

A well deserved win for Ielasi, a somewhat underestimated driver who always shines when it counts, and who was pleased with what he described as a tough race. Complimenting his pit man Stefano Colombini for “doing a great, great job and being perfect with both the strategy and its execution”, he also praised his package and declared himself delighted to kick off the 2017 season with a win. “To drive 45 minutes without making any mistakes wasn’t an easy task, especially on today’s low traction conditions, so I’m happy and proud”. With the 2016 season getting him the Italian title on the very same Cassino track and a podium finish at the Euros in Sweden, and this being a Worlds year the premises are good for “continuing pushing in the right direction”.

Daniele Ielasi joins FastRace SuperGT team

FastRace from Italy have announced the signing of former IFMAR 1/10th 200mm World Champion, Daniele Ielasi to their SuperGT team. After so far doing only select races with the GT-R15, included the win of the Euro GT race back in 2015, Daniele will now enjoy a full season with FastRace, including appearances at the Italian Nationals and the European Championship.
